The Special Prosecution Office has closed the investigations into the Oncology file and sent the case to court for a preliminary hearing for three people suspected of active and passive corruption.
Prosecutor Elvin Gokaj has sent Edmond Gashi, coordinator Emiljano Lela, and Mustafa Xhepmetaj, the person suspected of corrupting doctors, to trial.
Investigations revealed that doctor Edmond Gashi, in collaboration with his colleagues, directed patients diagnosed with cancer to a private clinic, which turns out to be in the name of his father, Halil Gashi. Meanwhile, earlier, some of the accused were sent to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for jurisdiction.
