A serious incident occurred on Friday morning in Lavrio, 50 km south of Athens. The ex-husband injured his wife and her cohabitant. According to initial information, the perpetrator, a 32-year-old Romanian citizen, entered the victims' apartment with a ladder and, after breaking the window with a sledgehammer, stabbed his 32-year-old ex-wife and her boyfriend, a 33-year-old Greek citizen of Albanian origin named Klevis Tite.
The woman was stabbed in the back and is in serious condition at Evangelismos Hospital, while Klevis Tite received wounds to his hands and genitals and was taken to Asklipio Hospital. The two injured are in serious condition. The whole incident happened in front of the former spouses' two minor children, 1.5 and 2.5 years old, who were taken to a state of shock by psychologists.
It is learned that the woman had reported the perpetrator at least 5 times for acts of violence and threats, and she even had a "panic button" installed on her phone, a system that notifies law enforcement online whenever the person who has it is in danger from the person who has reported it. But it seems that the perpetrator was determined to execute the victims who, fortunately, are still alive, since at the time of the incident, a resident who was parking his vehicle outside the apartment intervened to save them and also notified the police, who arrived at the scene within 2 minutes. The perpetrator was arrested and will be sent to court for security measures.
