
Two fires continue to be active in the Elbasan Region, specifically in the village of Galush in Peqin and in the forest area of Gjinari. Firefighting structures and support services are engaged in the field to monitor the situation and prevent the spread of flames. According to official information from the Civil Emergencies Office at the Elbasan Region Prefecture, in Galush, Administrative Unit Përparim, the fire has covered areas with olive groves, shrubs and low vegetation. The MZSH Peqin officers have remained on the ground throughout the night, while they have also created a security zone to protect homes.
The fires continue to be active in some parts of the area, but authorities say that there is currently no danger to homes or other buildings. A fire truck and 9 officers from the Peqin Fire Department have been deployed to the scene, while a fire truck and 4 officers from the Rrogozhina Fire Department have also arrived to assist them.
Meanwhile, the situation continues to be monitored in the Gjinar forest area, where the fire has been active for several days. Smoke is reported within the affected area, but there are currently no signs of the flames spreading and there is no report of fire development in the forest canopy. 14 Elbasan MZSH officers and a fire truck, as well as 9 ASHP employees and 7 employees of the Elbasan Municipality Forestry Enterprise have been engaged to manage the situation in Gjinar.
Emergency structures continue to monitor both fires, while firefighting forces are on standby to intervene in the event of reactivation or spread of the fire, especially in areas with dry vegetation, shrubs, olive groves and forest areas.
