A Ukrainian drone attack has hit an oil refinery in Moscow, causing fires and disrupting crude oil processing. Three industry sources told Reuters that the two main units of the refinery, owned by Gazprom Neft, were engulfed in flames. Repairing the damage could take weeks. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed damage to one industrial unit, while Gazprom Neft has not commented on the incident.
The Kapotnya refinery is one of the key facilities of the Russian oil industry and processes tens of thousands of tons of oil per day. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the long-range attacks had hit important facilities of the Russian oil industry and logistics.
