Some 700,000 faithful gathered at the Place de la Concorde in Paris for the Mass celebrated by Pope Leo, on the second day of his visit to France. The outdoor ceremony took place before a large crowd, with some 2,400 priests and deacons, nearly 100 bishops, more than 1,000 singers and 400 assistants present in the square.
According to foreign media reports, during the homily, Pope Leo invited believers to reflect on the meaning of life and ask themselves what their deepest thirst is. He also warned about the danger of excessive attachment to material wealth and immediate pleasures, emphasizing faith, peace and love. Pope Leo addressed a special message to young people, describing them as the 'Church of today' and praising their enthusiasm, energy and commitment to Christian communities.
