Amid the utter devastation that has engulfed Nepal, the voice of a child from beneath the rubble has brought a spark of hope.

Six-year-old Manisha Tamang was trapped for about 60 hours in a collapsed building in Timur district after deadly floods and landslides hit the country last Wednesday.

According to Sky News, officers heard her screams on Friday and managed to find her, paving the way for her rescue. Local police released a video of the moment rescuers pulled the girl from the rubble, as well as the first aid they gave her afterwards.

The death toll from the disaster continues to rise. More than 750 people have died in Nepal, while at least 16 have been reported in China.

Nepalese authorities are racing against time to deal with the growing number of bodies found in the affected areas. At the same time, more than 3,000 people are still missing, while search and rescue operations continue in extremely difficult conditions.

Most of the effort has focused on finding more than 900 hydroelectric plant workers who went missing after Wednesday's devastating floods.

Rescue teams have pumped air and dropped food into a tunnel where workers are believed to be trapped, but authorities said there has been no contact with anyone inside.

Nepalese authorities on Wednesday urged search and rescue teams to exercise "caution" as water levels rose again in a region bordering China, which was hit by devastating floods and landslides on Wednesday.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) assessed that Wednesday's disaster on Nepal's border with China was caused by the collapse of a glacier, which triggered a powerful flow of water and debris. ©LAPSI.al

Blendi Kajsiu: Prime Minister's misunderstanding on anti-corruption

The fact that no institution of our public administration noticed that millions of euros were invested in phantom incinerators, that AKSHI was controlled by an ordinary criminal, that the directors of the Municipality of Tirana awarded tenders to themselves, or that the police director and the director of SHISH worked for Gysi, shows that we do not have a public administration and a state.
