106 years ago, the great Albanian theater and film actress, Marie Logoreci, was born. She was born in Shkodër on September 23, 1920 and was a pioneer of Albanian cinematography, who for her merits was decorated with the titles of Honor of the Nation and People's Artist.
For the first time in a film, she starred in "Skënderbeu", then in the first Albanian short film "Fëmijët e saj", and then in the first Albanian film "Tana", etc. With her interpretation on stage and screen, she elevated various characters of Albanian mothers to art, becoming herself a symbol of the Albanian Mother.

Maria began her artistic activity at school, where she acted in the school theater, drew and sang. In 1945 she began singing on Radio Tirana and in concerts given in cities of Albania, and toured abroad as a soloist of the General State Choir.

Her repertoire included about 100 songs. In 1947 she began working at the People's Theatre (today the National Theatre). Her first performance on the theatre stage was Elmira in Moliere's comedy "Tartufe". The first film she participated in was the Soviet-Albanian collaboration "Skënderbeg".
Maria married in Tirana Kolë Logoreci, who at that time had returned from Vienna, where he had completed secondary and higher studies in economics, (head of the state budget at that time). Kola was the eldest son of the patriot and linguist Mati Logoreci (Teacher of the People), one of the well-known figures of the society of the time. He came from the famous family of Logoreci, which is mentioned since 1300 under the name Logoreseos.

In this environment, Marie's passion found a place to develop and her spiritual and intellectual world became wider. She began to learn German from her husband. Cycling also became one of her passions. She would often go for walks with her husband on bicycles to Durrës, but also to Shkodra.

Her stage career was a struggle, but with the satisfaction of fulfilling her passion and success. But this path was hindered by family difficulties, the death of her husband, Kola, and the obligation to provide for her son alone.
Her most successful roles are: Jessie in "The Russian Case", Alisa Langton in "Deep Roots", Kristina Padera in "The Conspiracy of the Condemned", Fatima in "Halili and Hajrija", Aljona Patrovna in "Six Lovers", "Lokja" in Our Country, Lady Milford in "Intrigue and Love", Tringa in "The Seven Shaljans", Gertrude in Hamlet, Bernarda Alba in "The House of Bernarda Alba", Tadrahova in "The Morality of Mrs. Dulska", Mother June in "The Great Insurmountable Wall", Mara in "The Kolgjinajt", Old Woman in "The Roof of Everyone", Mother in "Cuca of the Mountains", Gjela in "The Great Flood", etc.
